Security
The Security part provides Basis-Security Services and basic functions of the entity, access and key management. Additionally infrastructure functions like cryptographic algorithms are available. Via the adapter container adapters may be loaded into the system. This functionality is distributed automatically into the runtime environments and so is available immediately.

Management
Under Management functions for administration of the security solution are combined. An administration enables the configuration of all components and adapters while in modeling the sequence of the Security Processes is defined. The Policy Generator creates the system wide Security Rules, which enable a dynamic Security Policy, on basis of administration and modeling.

Automation
The Automation component of SAM contains the fundamental parts for the automated realization of the Security Policy within the SRT. The Security Rule created by the Policy Generator is combined with the model and applied to the Security Services. The realization of the Policy (Policy Enforcement) may be done locally as well as centrally.

With the SAM-Foundation companies already receive Security infrastructure including a „Security Service Bus“ implementation, which complements the standard ESB implementations. Basic functions especially in the area of the Policy Administration as well as automation mechanisms for distribution and provisioning of the Security Policy are already available. Supplemented by functional adapters integrated Security Solutions so may be composed.
