CORISECIO released the Open XML Gateway after a successful Public Beta Test. Using it companies may protect their Web Services in an efficient and easy way against threats. It is available as a free download.
Innovative Database Encryption with full performance especially for Cloud Applications.
A Data Warehouse (DWH) in a data processing center or an application running in the Cloud as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), operate sensitive data.
A DWH solution mostly requires high-performance - no performance loss by data encryption can be accepted. DWH solutions, e.g. with monthly billing runs, have no tolerance in time, not even a few percentage points.
CORISECIO here follows an innovative idea, to encrypt data outside the database, quasi „Offline“ and to on-the-fly replace them with substitute values according to data type. During the transfer to the database or to the Cloud the data is encrypted using the Streaming method and simultaneously allocated with substitute values.
Given, that e.g. <Name=Muller><Visa_Card=12345> is transmitted, first both values are AES 256 encrypted and then replaced according to data type, e.g. by <Name=ABC><Visa_Card=89668>. The application setting up thereupon may calculate using these “Replacement values” and the original value is re-entered only at the result e.g. of the invoice. The advantage of this method is the – mostly asynchronous – process (e.g. Batch operation) without performance loss and the high security, as all keys safely remain with the customer outsice of the Cloud.
On the side of the target system no modifications have to be done to any applications.
For a necessary online access CORISECIO provides the solution DB-Online Encryption. Here the data is encrypted and decrypted online.
CORISECIO also provides these solutions for DB-Offline/DB-Online Encryption on basis of their Open Source Security platform secRT. Of course, all add-ons for this (e.g. Multitenancy, Dedicated Administration) may be used for these solutions.
