Efficient and riskless test data generation from real data

Companies require data sets for test purposes to thoroughly test database applications improvements. Using real data would be easiest as they are available in the correct format already, but this holds severe security risks if e.g. financial applications are to be tested. The challenge is to efficiently generate data sets applications may use properly without exposing to legal implications.

CORISECIO’s DB-Offline Encryption provides solutions to safely generate test data from real data. All CORISECIO solutions are implemented on basis of its Open Source securityRunTime (secRT), an Eclipse Runtime project.

CORISECIO’s DB-Offline Encryption solution enables companies to encrypt data using the Streaming method. The encrypted data is simultaneously replaced with replacement values of the same data type. On-the-fly, this pseudonymization provides companies with test data; the keys and thus the real data remain protected. Applications in data centers may be tested on basis of this pseudonymized data.
